Find Your Way Back to Balance

Services

Sarah practices Traditional Chinese Medicne (TCM) which includes acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine,  Tui Na (twee nah) massage as well as other techniques.

Acupuncture

TCM is a sophisticated healing art that was developed over a 3,000 year history.  Health experts confirm that many common and chronic health disorders are effectively treated by TCM.  In Oriental medicine, treatment is centered on the individual rather than the disease.  Mental emotional and physical aspects of the patient are considered interrelated.  Sarah has been trained to piece together all of your symptoms to form a complete clinical picture with Eastern diagnostic methods, although she is familiar with Western medical practices and diagnoses.  Diagnosis is made through interview and visual inspection, particularly the tongue, palpation of the pulses at the wrist and palpation of the acupuncture points.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs are prescribed as both a complement to acupuncture treatments and a primary form of therapy.  Chinese herbs can change the body's balances and patterns, resulting in decreased symptoms, increased energy, improved digestion, improves sleep and/ or regulated menstrual cycle.  The herbs are particularly effective with chronic problems as well as the more acute versions of the common cold and flu , which do not respond as readily to Western medicines.  During your office visit, you will be asked many questions about your symptoms and lifestyle patterns.

Tui Na Massage

Sarah is trained in Tui Na massage which is a form of Chinese Massage that uses kneading, pressing, rolling, shaking and stretching of the body.  Tui Na is thought to regulate Qi (vital energy) and blood flow, and improve the function of tendons, bones and joints.

Additional Techniques

Sarah also includes the use of moxibustion, cupping, tiger warmer, gua sha and dietary therapies in her treatments.
